Ivanka Trump is not well received

Ivanka Trump rented home in Washington, D.C.’s posh Kalorama neighborhood together with her husband, Jared Kushner, about two months ago. What happened? Their neighbors are already complaining about the high level of security and parking problems.

“It has been a three-ring circus from the day that they’ve moved in,” Marietta Robinson what she told the Associated Press. “They’ve completely ruined the neighborhood.” Marietta loves across the street.

Other Kalorama residents say that since the couple and their three children, Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore, have continued their lives in the area in January, it has been impossible to find space to park on the big street. Members of the Secret Service shadow the family everywhere and block the road with their vans.

“This is the adult child of the president,” Robinson told The Washington Post “Sometimes there are 10 cars out there. … They’ve completely taken over the whole street — as if they have the authority!”

The AP noted that residents are familiar with VIP neighbors. Former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, are also living in the area ever since he left the White House. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have bought homes in Kalorama too.

“Maybe some of the upset has to do with politics a little,” neighborhood commissioner Ellen Goldstein. “I couldn’t say for sure, but I know that people don’t seem to be upset about Tillerson’s situation. It’s much less intrusive.”

Nicole Mainor works for the Secrete Service. She told the AP that members of the agency have met with neighbors and city officials to talk concerns about parking and other disturbances.
