Boy stabbed at party promoted on Instagram

Just a little shock to bring us back to reality from all the social media going around. Teenager Che Labastide-Wellington has been stabbed multiple times at a party in the UK.

So, this 17-year-old was at a birthday party in Kenton in the west side of London. The party was announced on social media Instagram. A small army of men found out about the party, and, even though they weren’t invited, they went. This is how Che got stabbed to death… His friend was also stabbed with knives by the men several times, but hasn’t passed away.

Up until now, there are seven people accused and on trial for murder and wounding.

Crispin Aylett QC said a flyer for the event was posted on Instagram, which meant “inevitably a number of people who had not been invited got to hear about it”. He also explains that the two boys were being hunt down. They were outside when the “small army” chose them as their victim.

Surprising, since everyone at the party was supposedly searched to assure no one was carrying weapons.

Calvin Tudor (22), Rimmel Williams (18), Walker Sesay (18), Omar Afrah (22), Olamilekan Onafowokan (23), Marlon Tudor (23) and Ibrahim Mansaray (18) are all being charged with murder by joint enterprise and wounding. There’s another teenager (15) from Willesden, who cannot be named. He’s facing a charge of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

If the story isn’t sad enough yet, the mother of Che, Carlene Wellington, gave birth to another son, Che’s brother, less than a day before he passed. An expensive lesson but, if there’s one thing we can learn from this, it’s to be careful with what we share on the Internet, not everyone has the best intentions.
