Photo Map is getting removed

One of the great features on social media platform Instagram is called Photo Map. It shows you the map of the world and on the same time all the places where you’ve taken your pictures. You can see the same thing on profiles which you are following. It’s especially spectacular when you travel all around the world, but also fun if you stay within the borders.

That’s what makes it such a pity to say goodbye to this element. Not only is it leaving, for some of the Instagrammers this detail has already disappeared.

Captura

Photo Map was not widely used, so we’ve decided to remove the feature and focus on other priorities” the company said in a statement to Mashable.

What isn’t going to disappear are the geotags. Of course you can still label where you took the picture, you just can’t see all the tags on a global map. Once the function of Photo Maps has disappeared, you’ll only have three tabs instead of four.

Saying they want to focus on other priorities, I’m guessing Instagram Stories. It came out about a month ago, and Instagram is fighting Snapchat with it. Also they created the business profiles, what else will they create?
